I want to get married tomorrow just so I can have this arch of books. Is that wrong?
Not strictly a bookshelf but still pretty darn bookishly cute.
This week has been a week of remembrance. Not only because Sunday was a day to remember and celebrate the soldiers of past and present and their sacrifices, but because today marks one year since my dad passed.
Some days it feels like it’s been years, and other days it feels like we lost him last week. Overall, though, this year has been a year of healing. It has been by no means easy, but the healing process never is.
I just wanted to share a small view into the life of the man who showed me how to love, how to laugh, and how to appreciate everything I have.
**The song is by Matthew Perryman Jones; he lost his father and has been able to express the sorrow and the joy associated with loss through the medium of music. This particular song was, for me, very apropos.

We stopped by Leica at Photokina today (that giant photo conference we’ve been talking about)!
Here’s what we saw:
- The Leica M, their newest mirrorless camera with a full-frame 24MP sensor (as good as a DSLR’s!) It goes for $6K, but it’s a Leica, y’know?
- The stunning and relatively small X2. It’s a compact digital camera with a fast f/2.8 lens and a major CMOS 16.2 MP sensor, which means it can capture light better with low noise and great color depth.
